Viking Control Board or Touch Panel Cost
The band for a machine whose buttons have stopped answering, or answer when they choose.
Published band
$440$660
Control board or touch panel. The figure you are given on the day sits inside that span and is agreed with you before anything is dismantled.
$89 to come out
$89 flat brings a technician out and pays for the whole diagnosis, and it is taken off the bill the moment you approve the repair.
Two parts share this band. One is the board that decides what the machine does next; the other is the panel under your finger that tells it. Viking Repair Denver publishes the span instead of holding it back until a technician is in the kitchen, and the figure you are given sits inside it — (303) 729-0972.
Why the board and the panel are priced as one thing
From the kitchen the two present identically: buttons that ignore you, a dark display, a programme that starts itself. Only a test says which side of the glass the fault is on, and ordering the wrong side is expensive enough that nobody guesses at it.
Why you get a span instead of a price
The low end is a panel swapped on a machine that never leaves its opening. The high end is a board on a unit trimmed into joinery behind a weighty custom front, where the morning goes on getting it out and back without marking anything. Yours gets one figure, agreed before a screwdriver is picked up, and the $89 already paid comes off it.
What that figure covers
- The board or panel, genuine or factory-approved, fitted and proved through a complete cycle
- Reading the fault out of the machine first, so you pay for the half of the band that is yours
- Opening the door down and rebuilding it, custom front and handle hung square again
- Testing the circuits the board switches, so a new one is not put in behind an old fault
What is a different job
- A pump or an inlet valve, where that is what took the board down — its own published band
- A door gasket or a latch found perished while the door is in pieces, quoted on its own
- The house circuit the machine is wired into, which is an electrician rather than a technician
What decides where in the span you land
- Panel, board, or the pair of them
- A panel gone deaf in one corner and a board that has lost a single function sit at opposite ends of this span, and one visit separates them.
- Whether the door has to be stripped
- Reaching a panel means opening the door up, and a door carrying a heavy custom front is slower to take apart and slower to hang true again.
- What the component costs to buy
- Electronics are the one repair where the part rather than the hours decides most of the figure, and a board for an older machine is not reliably cheaper.
- Whether something upstream caused it
- A board that died switching a stalled motor is no use on its own. What killed it is found first, or the replacement follows it.
